Look at these women, fighting to protect U.S. lives and property, even though the U.S. took over their homeland. The U.S. Navy literally parked its boats in the harbor and gave an ultimatum to Queen Liliʻuokalani to give up her power, land, and people.
But I digress. This photo should have been posted all over the mainland. Because guess what happened three months later? Executive Order 9066, by President FDR. (Heh, February 19 is my birthday, my day of infamy). Japanese Americans who appeared and acted “too Asian” were rounded up and plopped into
dog kennels jailsinternment camps.
